Pre-Celtic Fest Day added at Belle Mont May 13

Belle Mont Celtic Fest Tickets, Sat, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM | Eventbrite TUSCUMBIA-On Friday, May 13, two free pre-festival events at Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Lane, Tuscumbia, will serve as a kick-off to the Belle Mont Celtic Fest scheduled for the next day.  At 11:00 a.m. a panel discussion describing the trends of Scottish and Irish migration into the Tennessee Valley and the influence of their settlement in early Alabama will be led by Dr. Carrie Barske-Crawford, Executive Director of the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, and Professor of Public History at the University of North Alabama.  A demonstration and showing of Gordon Setters will take place at 1:00 p.m.  This canine breed was originally developed in Scotland to aid hunters by flushing birds from the fields.  Admission to the museum will be free to everyone on this day (only).  Self-guided tours of the museum will be offered.  Come to enjoy the preliminary plans for the Belle Mont Celtic Fest, free of charge.  Far and Near Scottish will be setting up with Celtic merchandise will be available for sale.
