Polly Stapp Mixon, age 90, of Beaverton, AL, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Arabella Health and Rehab in Vernon, AL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 4:00pm at Sulligent First Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Shiloh-Pinhook cemetery. Bro. Jeremy Hollis, Bro. Edward Puckett, and Jessie Christian to officiate. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 3:00pm until 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 521, Vernon, AL 35592.

Ms. Mixon was born on August 8, 1935 in Sulligent, AL. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Alice Jackson Reeves. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Stapp, who she shared 28 years; her second husband of 32 years, Frank Mixon and Frank Mixon whom she spent her later years. In addition, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Reeves, her grandson, Jeremy Stapp and brother-in-law, Paul Nolen.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Allen) Christian of Vernon; sons, Danny (Mary Ann) Stapp of Vernon, Chris Mixon of Beaverton; grandchildren, Jesse (Kayla) Christian, Makenzie (Hunter) Motichek; great grandchildren; Hadley, Alex and Matthew.
Ms. Mixon was first and foremost a devoted christian who loved the Lord and lived her life guided by her faith. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist of Sulligent for over 40 years. She previously worked for Reltoc and Home Health. She found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments; painting, playing the piano and tending her flowerbeds, where she spent may peaceful hours. Her faith, kindness and zeal for life will be deeply missed.
