TUSCUMBIA-The Tuscumbia Police Department received a call of a domestic situation that possibly involved a firearm. The call was received at 8:55 pm Sunday January 28. The address was 1128 Old Lee Highway.
When  officers arrived they were met by an adult female who said that her husband had kicked her and threatened her with a handgun so she and her juvenile daughter fled the residence. Once Tuscumbia units arrived they attempted to make contact with the male inside the residence. He told officers that he was not coming out and if they attempted to come in and get him it was not going to end well.
The Tuscumbia Special Operation Group(TSOG) was activated and responded to the scene. Negotiators continue to try and negotiate with the subject to try and get him to surrender on his own but he continued to refuse and after a period of time stopped communicating with officers. The decision was made to deploy tear gas into the residence and once this happened the subject came out of the residence within a minute and was taken into  custody without further incident. There were no injuries from the situation and the offender was check by medical personnel on scene.
Arrested in the incident was Salvador Noceda, age 49 of Tuscumbia. He was charged with domestic violence, menacing and resisting arrest. At the time of this release he is still in the Tuscumbia City Jail based on a mandatory cool down period and awaiting bond.
