Police Chase In Florence Results In Arrest

FLORENCE-On April 23, 2026, an officer with the Florence Police Department observed a vehicle displaying an improper tag and attempted to initiate a traffic stop near the area of Cloverdale Road and Rasch Road. The driver failed to stop and fled the scene.

emergency medical personnel arrived. The driver of the civilian vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

 

The suspect continued to flee before crashing into a parked utility truck. The driver, identified as Drew Bonner, was taken into custody. Bonner had several misdemeanor and felony warrants with multiple agencies in the Shoals area. Bonner is confined at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on our charges from this incident with a bond of $8,100. Bonner is being charged with attempting to elude (felony), leaving a scene of an accident with injury, driving while license revoked, operating a vehicle without insurance, fail to stop sign, switched tag, improper lane change, run red light, and assault 2nd Degree.
