Plane Crashes Near Elkmont; Two Dead

ELKMONT-A plane has crashed in Limestone County at Highway 127 and the intersection of  Witty Mill Road.  According to Limestone County Sheriff Josh McLaughlin two persons have died in the crash of the small plane. The identities of the victims are unknown at this time.

Statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency:

“A plane crash occurred at approximately 11:57 a.m. Monday, December 4, in Limestone County.

The crash occurred near 23726 Alabama 127 in Elkmont. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been notified and is currently responding.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are assisting in securing the scene. Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.”
