FLORENCE-Mayor Andrew Betterton, Florence City Council, and the Florence Parks and Recreation Department are excited to invite you to a groundbreaking at the Veterans Memorial Park for a new Pickleball/Tennis Complex, which will occur Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 10:00 am. This is an exciting new addition to our community that will provide top-tier facilities for tennis and pickleball enthusiasts. The 9.4 million project is expected to be completed in 2025.
The expansion project features:
– 12 hard tennis courts, known for their superior quality and durability
– 6 clay tennis courts, offering a premium playing experience
– 16 covered pickleball courts, ensuring playability in various weather conditions
– 6 uncovered pickleball courts, providing additional space for outdoor recreation
– Pro-shop & restroom facility
This project underscores the city’s commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The addition of these facilities will make Veterans Memorial Park a premier destination for tennis and pickleball players of all skill levels, fostering community engagement and tourism and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
