Phyllis M. Gilpin Profile PhotoPhyllis Marie Gilpin, age 76 of Fayette, passed away on Friday, October 05, 2023, at Fayette DCH. Services for Mrs. Gilpin will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 09, 2023, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. The visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Bro. Gary Braisher will be officiating the service.

Mrs. Gilpin is preceded in death by her father; Spencer Owens, mother; Nocal Owens, husband; Douglas Gilpin, daughter; Mechelle McCool, sisters; Grace Davis, Bobbie Sue Lindsey, and Julia Nell Griffin, and brothers; Douglas Owens.

She is survived by her daughters; Pamela Gilpin Sickles (Tommy) of Fayette AL, Stephanie Watkins (Dewight) of Fayette AL, and bonus daughter, Laura Rainey (Randy) of Fayette AL, brother; George Owens of Fayette AL, special niece; Shelia Watson, and grandchildren; William McCool, Sara Watkins (Jayson), Joshua McCool (Jodie), Trey Sickles, Zander Watkins, Jameson Watkins, and Sarah Tirado (Nate).

Phyllis Marie Gilpin was born in Kennedy Alabama to Spencer and Nocal Owens. She attended school in Kennedy Alabama. She worked in many different occupations so there were not many things she could not do. She loved her children and sharing and ministering the word of God. She was a beautiful mother of 3 daughters and grandmother to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a blessed aunt to her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gilpin was married for 36 years to her late husband Douglas Gilpin and many loveable memories were made together. She always had a smile on her face, loved everyone, and was always ready to encourage someone to cross her way. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Sickles, Dewight Watkins, Jayson Watkins, and Chesley Owens.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Trey Sickles, Zander Watkins, Jameson Watkins, Jaxon Watkins, Grayson Watkins, and Kearah Baker.
