Phyllis Denise Abernathy, 56, of Florence, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at ECM Hospital. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at Greenview Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
She was born in Florence to the late R.H. Abernathy and Dorothy Scott Duncan. Survivors are her children, George Quinones, Jason Quinones, Jazzmen Tamayo Velez (all of Cleveland, Ohio), and Ariana Machado and Julianna Machado, both of Florence; sisters, Macel Bohannon, Killen, and Melissa Readence, Florence; eight grandchildren; and her special buddy, Harley Gray.
