Phillip Sugg – Obituary

Phillip Sugg, (Daddy, Pop, Big Phil) 78, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida after a brief illness on January 26, 2018. He was a resident of Signal Mountain, TN for over 30 years but his childhood home was Fayetteville, TN which will be his final resting place.

Phillip was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed for 30 years in sales at Brock Candy Company. Upon his retirement, he spent most of his time in Florida with his daughter and grandson.

He loved his family immensely and is survived by his brother, Tom (Imelda) Sugg; daughter, Beth Kinsey (Grandson – Daniel Kinsey); son Phillip Sugg III; son, Robert Rippy; son, Jeff (Karen) Rippy; daughter, Gayle Rippy; son, John (Lisa) Rippy; daughter, Sara Rippy; nephews, Will Sugg and Drew (Jill) Sugg; and hosts of other family.

He was preceded in death by his precious parents, Jack and Elizabeth Sugg.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wednesday at 11:00 AM until time of service.
