Phillip Scott Pinckley, born November 9, 1944, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Flavil and Irene (Scates) Pinckley, passed away on January 14, 2026 in Memphis, Tennessee. Phil will be remembered for his love of music, poetry, philosophy, and nature. He and his brother Pat, enjoyed many hours writing songs and playing their music. In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by his brother David Pinckley, sister-in-law Frances (Mitchell) Pinckley, and twin brother Pat Pinckley.
He is survived by his brother Dan Pinckley, and sister-in-law Nita (West) Pinckley; sons, Jeff, Paul, and Jacob and their wives; seven grandchildren; and four nieces.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 20, 2026, with Buddy Nash officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Arbor Day Foundation, Audubon Society, or your favorite nature charity.
