Phillip Marty Shelton, 58, died Sunday, June 20, 2015. Marty, a lifetime resident of Lawrence County, is survived by his wife Cornelia (Connie); his daughter, Angie Brown (Brien); his granddaughter, Ashley Brown; stepson, Jon Bates; brothers,O.S. “Stu” Shelton, Royce Shelton (Brenda), Alfred A. “Bud’ Shelton (Patricia); sisters, Reba Bundrick (Murphy), Beulah “B” Coyne (Edward), Mary Reynolds (Kenneth); sister-in-law, Audrey Shelton; and hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell P. Shelton and Annie Christy Shelton; his sister, Shirley Shelton Proctor; and his brother, Lowell D. Shelton.
A memorial celebration will be held at Caddo Senior Center at 2 p.m. today, June 24. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Marty’s courageous fight against Lupus, the family asks for donations to the Lupus Foundation of America to aid in the search for a cure for this debilitating disease. https://www.lupus.org
