Phillip Craig Taylor, 75, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at his home. He was born on August 10, 1950, in Fresno, California.
Phillip, known to his family and friends as “Poppie,” was a man who loved life and the people in it. He enjoyed NASCAR, Alabama football, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandi McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Jean McDonald Taylor; his daughters, Alisha Taylor and Leah Rochelle and her husband Stan; his son, Phillip Taylor and his wife Shelby Scholz; and his grandchildren, Lexis McDonald, Isaiah Taylor, Jeremiah Morrison, Hailey Taylor, Gavin Taylor, Brianna, DJ, Saniyya, and Zaire; his great-grandchildren: Rylan, Josiah, and Nevaeh.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday at 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends an hour before the service.
