Phillip  McDonald Phillip Christopher McDonald, 60, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his home as the result of a house fire. He was born in Tuscumbia, AL on August 17, 1961 to John McDonald and Velma Fisher Vaiden. Phillip was a graduate of Colbert County High School and worked as a butcher in the meat department at Todd’s Big Star and currently at Food Giant in Okolona. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and his dog, Scruffy who also perished in the fire. He was of the Baptist faith.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be on Sunday afternoon, January 23, 2022 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home.

He is survived by his daughter, April Holton (Chris) of Amory; 4 brothers, Johnny McDonald, Mike McDonald, Joey McDonald, and Anthony McDonald; two sisters, Connie Tank and Sharon Barksdale; grandchildren, Ali Holton, Bishop Holton, and Isabella; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless friends at Food Giant especially in the meat department.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
