Philip Neal Anderson, 85, of Huntsville died at home July 22 after a lengthy illness. Born in Huntsville he was the son of Edward and Lessie Anderson. He graduated from Lincoln School, where his father was principal, and then the University of Alabama. He retired after working 35 years at NASA where he received several outstanding awards. Mr. Anderson was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Harris Anderson; one daughter, Carol Anderson Greer and husband, Scott; and two grandchildren, Philip and Camille Greer, all of Huntsville. He is also survived by one sister Margaret Farrow of Huntsville, and one brother James Anderson of Scottsboro.
He has fought the good fight, he has finished the course and he has kept the faith.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with Dr. Travis Collins and the Rev. Mark Seanor officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or First Baptist Church Missions Fund.
