Philip Bailey – Obituary

Philip Bailey, 50, of Huntsville, passed away Friday.  He was a 1985 graduate of Huntsville High School and graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 1989.  Philip was an accountant with the Health and Human Services Department of the Federal Government.

Philip was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved hunting and fishing but nothing was more important to him than his family, especially his daughter.

Philip is survived by his daughter, Meagan Bailey; parents, Doyle and Ann Bailey; brothers James Bailey (Teresa) and John Bailey (Mary Margaret); former spouse, Karla Minor and her son, Jackson; nieces and nephews, Andrew Bailey (Jenny), Curtis Bailey, Jonathan Bailey (Emily), Kendall Ann Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey; many extended family members and childhood friend, Mike Cooney.

Visitation will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 10 at First Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jud Reasons officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
