Phil Campbell Special Ed Teacher Charged With Sending Explicit Video To A Minor

FRANKLIN COUNTY-On Friday, August 11 a Special Education teacher at Phil Campbell High School was charged with one count of School Employee Distributing or Soliciting Obscene Material from a Student and one count of Distributing Harmful Materials to a Minor.

Timothy Mark Wells, 36  of Phil Campbell was arrested and admitted to authorities with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office he did send an explicit video to a 17-year-old student.   FCSO said at around 11 a.m. Friday, Wells turned himself into the Franklin County Detention Center.

According to authorities with the sheriff’s office the FCSO received a report on Wednesday concerning an explicit video. Information in the video lead authorities to questioning Wells.  Wells admitted on Wednesday evening to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office he sent the video.

The Franklin County School System has placed Wells on administrative leave. There is no indication the charge involves a special education student.

Wells is being held in the Franklin County Jail without bond and is awaiting a bond hearing.
