Phil Campbell Man Drowns In Upper Bear Creek Lake

drowning350_jpg_475x310_q85FRANKLIN COUNTY-Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling of the Alabama State Troopers Office released a statement regarding a drowning on Sunday, September 13 on Upper Bear Creek Lake:

“A boating incident at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday, September 13, near the Cummins Creek Bridge on Upper Bear Creek Lake, has claimed the life of a Phil Campbell man. Teddy Allan Mcalister, 49, drowned after he fell overboard from a canoe.

Mcalister, who was not using a personal flotation device (PFD), was recovered from the water at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday, September 13.

Various local agencies assisted the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division with the search and recovery operation.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers assigned to Marine Patrol continue to investigate.”
