Pete Yancey, age 78, passed away on July 16th 2021. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Pete was born on August 8th, 1942, the fourth of six children born to James Walter Yancey and Mary Leaton Yancey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn Leigeber Yancey, daughter: Lisa Davis (Jeffrey), grandsons: Brent Davis (Molly), Brandon Davis (Kaylie), and great-grandsons: Carter, Mason, Avery and Owen (Juan) Davis, sister: Janice Barcliff (James), and a host of Nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Gilbert Reed Yancey, Donald Ralph Yancey, Perry Montgomery Yancey and sister: Sherry Jane Light.
He was employed by Eaton Corporation, Arab, Al. as an Engineer and Supervisor from 1970 until his retirement in 1998.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Rescue Methodist Church on 3060 Rescue Rd. Union Grove Al, 35175. Immediately following the Celebration there will be a reception for sharing of fond memories.
