Perry R. Rolfe – Obituary

Funeral service for Perry R. Rolfe age 81 of Somerville will be Monday, January 13, 2014 at 3:00pm at Antioch United Methodist Church with Kathryne Perkins officiating with burial in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Rolfe, who was born on September 7, 1932 in Morgan County to Joe Wilbur Rolfe and Mary McCutcheon Rolfe, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home in Somerville. He was a lifelong member of the Antioch United Methodist Church, retired from Redstone Arsenal after 33 years, he also retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving for 33 years as a member of the 1343rd Battalion of the U. S. Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers; Joe Rolfe Jr. and Harry Rolfe and by a sister; Faye Rolfe Willis and a step-brother; Dr. Dale Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years; Julia Rolfe, a son; Phillip Rolfe (Brenda), a daughter; Belinda Thompson (Steve) and two Grandchildren; Elizabeth Thompson and Joseph Thompson, all of Somerville. He is also survived by a step-sister; Judy Brown Aldridge of Danville.

Donald Ray Rolfe, Roger Garner, Christopher Binkley, Herb Willis, Patrick Willis and Don Murphy will serve as pallbearers.
