Perry Allen Tucker, lovingly called Butter, peacefully passed away on January 28, 2024 at the age of 69 in Florence, AL. Allen was born November 18, 1954 in Alexander City, AL. He was an exceptional individual whose life was marked by an unwavering love for family and an infectious zest for life. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In a distinguished career spanning 46 years as an Industrial Engineer, Allen contributed his expertise and dedication to Reynolds/Wise/Constellium, becoming an invaluable asset to the company. His expertise, passion and commitment to his career was very evident and left a lasting impact on colleagues.
Outside of the professional realm, Allen indulged in a variety of passions. As a proud member of the Twin Buck Hunt Club, he reveled in the thrill of hunting and the camaraderie it brought. He also enjoyed cooking for friends and family, creating delicious meals that brought everyone together. Allen’s active participation in the Elks Lodge and passionate support for the Auburn Tigers highlighted some of his favorite past times with friends and family.
Allen is survived by his loving daughters, Joy Tucker and Jana Schulte (Wally), and his cherished sister, Teresa Henry (Wes). He also leaves behind nephews and nieces—David Ashworth (Tracy), Shane Ashworth (Jessica), Ryan Ashworth, and Mindy O’Brien. His memory will be forever treasured by his grandchildren, Jordan Garber (Sid), Tucker Ingrum, and Elijah Dunlap, as well as his great-granddaughter, Viviana Garber. Allen was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hubert and Luna Dell Tucker, and his brother, Byron Tucker.
Allen’s education began at Benjamin Russell High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning. He graduated from Auburn University, with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
A memorial service to celebrate Allen’s life will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Greenview Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Florence, AL. The family will receive guests from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. There will be a service following. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude at stjude.org.
