Peggy Sue (Bird) Knight, 87, of Owens Cross Roads passed away Sunday at her home surrounded by family in Big Cove.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Monroe Knight; Daddy & Mother, Walter Lee and Bertie Lorene (Adams) Bird; grandson, James Monroe Knight; grandson-in-law, Duane McAnally; sisters, Lucille (James Earl) Cowan and Jane Simmons; brothers, J.W. (Mary Jo) Byrd, Sammy (Nyoka) Byrd and Wayne Byrd; brother-in-law, Roger Martin; and Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Monroe & Olgia Knight.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Sue Knight (Victor) Warren; three sons, Clinton Wayne (Carol) Knight, Aaron Jerome (Tammy) Knight, and Bill Monroe (Patty) Knight;
Grandchildren, Walter (April) Knight, Misty McAnally, Aaron (Leslie) Knight II, Amanda (Jeremy) Collins, Tabitha (Luis) Melendez,, Cody (Danielle) Knight, Katie (Chris) Dean, Karen Knight, Kiley (Sawyer) Sisk, Stephanie (Marcus) Doss, and Stacie (Andy) Turner;
Great Grandchildren, Cameron (Mackenzie) Knight, Conner and Gavin Knight, Carlee, Wade and Leona Collins, Manuel (Addison) Melendez, Chance, Sullivan and Piper Dean, Quinn Knight, Aly Bradley, Cainan, Callie and Paxton Doss, and two on the way;
Sisters, Phyllis (Jerry) Schultz and Nancy Martin; brothers, Ronald (Pam) Byrd and Kevin (Ellen) Bird; brother-in-law, Lawrence “PeeWee” Simmons; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2025 5 pm to 8 pm at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11 am with Bro. Leon Castle and Bro. Shannon Byrd officiating. Pallbearers will be Walter Knight, Aaron Knight II, Cody Knight, Jeremy Collins, Luis Melendez, Chris Dean and Sawyer Sisk. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Doss and Andy Turner.
Interment will be in Green Valley Cemetery in Big Cove.
