Peggy S. Christian, 81, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday. Mrs. Christian graduated from Huntsville High School in 1952. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Huntsville and retired from SAIC after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross P. and Beulah Starkey and her husband, Bobby R. Christian.
Survivors include son, Michael Ross Christian of Huntsville; daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Christian of Huntsville; grandchildren, Sondra Nicole ‘Nicki’ Christian of Birmingham and Erin Jean Christian of Huntsville; great-grandson, Everett Grey Christian of Birmingham; sister, Elizabeth S. Owen of Rock Hill, SC, Paula S. Cox of Athens, and Virginia S. Watkins of Tampa, FL; 6 nephews, 2 nieces; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and 3 great grandnieces.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Women’s Fund or Children’s First Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville; the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
