Born February 7, 1939, in Maury County, Tennessee, Peggy was the daughter of the late William Percy Ring and the late Rachel Amick Ring. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1957. On November 21, 1964, she married Bobby William Sampson, who preceded her in death on September 23, 2010.

Peggy was a devoted homemaker who also worked for a time in the preschool at Columbia Academy. She was most recently a member of Graymere Church of Christ, where her faith was an important part of her life. Prior to that, she served alongside her husband who ministered local congregations with many years served at Old Lasea Church of Christ.

Her greatest joys came from reading her Bible, spending precious time with her children and grandchildren, and selflessly devoting herself to caring for others. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family and the many lives she touched through her kindness and caring heart.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Kim) Sampson of Columbia, Leigh Ann (Kenneth) McFarlen of Culleoka, and Crystal (Royce) Tucker of Ardmore, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Bailey Sampson, Caroline Sampson, Noah McFarlen, Kinsley McFarlen, Anniston McFarlen, Wesley Tucker, and Walker Tucker; sister-in-law, Juanita Moore; brother-in-law, James (Liz) Sampson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Homer Ring, Ronnie Ring, and Billy Ring.

Pallbearers will be Royce Tucker, Wesley Tucker, Walker Tucker, Noah McFarlen, Kevin Ring, and Tommy Ring. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and elders of Graymere Church of Christ.
