Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Lou Tart, age 72, are scheduled for 2 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Mazies Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Tart passed away on Sunday in Jackson. She was born December 5, 1947 in Henderson County to the late Olen B. and Lou Annie Roberts Wood. She was a retired cafeteria worker for Henderson County School District, working at Westover Elementary and also dedicated many years of volunteer work to HCFD Station #10. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and her favorite past-time was enjoying her grandchildren’s sports. She also loved to garden. Mrs. Tart was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Lowell Tart; one son, Kenneth Tart; five brothers, Lenoice, Larry, Willie B., Jerry, and Roby Wood and four sisters, Virginia Alexander, Shirley Wood, Alma Forrester, and Marie Wood. Survivors include her son, Wayne Holmes; three daughters, Darlene Thomas, Melissa Tart, and Cindy Coffman (Chris); three brothers, James, Harold, and Darrell Wood; two sisters, Dorothy Byers and Patsy Dennison; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Holmes, Lindsey Turner, Fisher Holmes, Eric Thomas, Danal Wood, Jackson Coffman, and Jadyn Tart; and four great grandchildren.
