Peggy Jean Hargett Bowen, age 77, Huntsville (formerly of the Russellville area) passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital

Peggy graduated from Russellville High School after enjoying all twelve years of school being in the marching band, and completed her senior year as Drum Major of the Marching Hundred. She was a 3rd runner up in Miss Alabama contest and was always a talented entertainer. She was a loving wife sharing 55 years together with the love of her life, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Russellville and she was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed by all.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Russellville with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Bro. Clint Busler will be officiating.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Clark Hargett; mother, Rebecca Raushenberg Hargett Rogers; loving step-mother, Alma Mitchell Hargett; and loving step-father, Clyde Rogers. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Bill Bowen; children, Mark Bowen, Meleah Bowen Hopper; grandchildren, Brittany Bowen, Haley Bowen, Isabell Bowen, Fox Bowen; sister, Joanna Hargett Tutich; a special 92 year old aunt, Josephine McLemore Scott; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
