Mrs. Smith was born in Temple, Arizona on January 25, 1939, to the late Carl William Abner and Christine C. Abner Wolf. Her mother remarried to the late Fred Wolf. She grew up in a large family knowing they were always there for each other. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1956, married the late James R. Smith, moved to Alabama then back to AZ. And one more time, settled in Alabama. Peggy was a hard worker all her life. She started out at Dobbins Dept Store in Gadsden Alabama. She was also the first girl in her family to work at the AZ Republic newspaper alongside her father Fred Wolf, uncles, brothers, and cousins. She worked for Mutual Savings Insurance, and eventually went into mobile home business as a broker. Peggy enjoyed going to antique thrift stores and the family lovingly thought of her as the eclectic collector. She was always happy, to share her advice and life experiences with her family and friends who she loved deeply.
Peggy leaves a lasting legacy of always trying, never quitting, a way will be found. God willing and Dream Big.
