Peggy Heflin GattisPeggy Heflin Gattis, 76, of Huntsville, passed away at home on Sunday. Mrs. Gattis graduated in 1961 from Decatur High School, and retired from Chesebrough-Ponds and Sara Lee Corp. She was past President of the Early Works Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gattis, parents, William Silas Heflin and Annie Mae Stephenson, and sisters, Billie Ann Wood (Ken) and Mary Jo Black (Joe).

Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Jackson of Decatur, and Catherine Jackson Brooks (Clint) of Birmingham; grandsons, Jackson and Parker Lindsey; nieces, C.J. Graft (Pat) and Margaret Emery (Brian); nephew, William Black (Gena); and great-niece, Audrey Black.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Nativity. The memorial service will follow at the church with Father Michael Goldsmith officiating. There will be a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or EarlyWorks Museum
