Peggy Harris – Obituary

Peggy Harris, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was an artist of local renown, and was especially talented in painting portraits. Some of her work can be seen at Iuka City Hall, and she also painted a portrait of the late Robert E. Lambert, Iuka Hospital Administrator, and of the late R.A. “Mr. Mac” McRee, former president of the Iuka Guaranty Bank. She also exhibited many works of art at the Iuka Public Library, including a portrait of General Robert E. Lee, which she donated. Visitation is scheduled for 11 AM until 2 PM on Wednesday, December 5 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Lance Foster. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Frank Thomas, Eddie Thomas, Chris Murrah, Logan Harris, Roger Byrd, and Ron Newborn. Honorary bearers will be Cotton Wade, David Murrah, Neal Harwell, Randy Cohick, Tyler Cohick, and the Staff of Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 2 daughters – Linda Murrah (Roger Byrd) of Iuka and Jane Cohick (Randy) of State College, PA; 7 grandchildren – Chris Murrah (Sondra) of Michie, TN; Tyler Cohick of State College, PA; Logan Harris of Iuka; Bethany Harris of Iuka; Jennifer Foster (Brian) and Kristin Cohick, both of State College, PA; and Kim Reed (Charlie) of Harrisburg, PA; 3 great grandchildren; a special son in law – David Murrah (Cyndi); a special daughter in law – Cherry Owen (Raymond); her roommate, Peggy Walker; and 1 sister in law – Quay Poole of Booneville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Maggie Moss and C.J. Wakefield; her husband of fifty years, Clyne Harris; and a son, Greg Harris
