Peggy Echols Light, 77 of Cordova, passed away Wednesday September 4, 2019 at Princeton Palliative Care surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be Friday September 6, 2019 at 2:30 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Pastor Victor Massey will officiate. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Pineywoods. Visitation is Friday from 1:00-2:30 pm at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Maudie Echols; husband, Jimmy Light; sisters, Pauline McIntyre, Jean Smith and Margaret Maddox; brother, Jimmy Echols and grandson, Ricky Lemley.
She is survived by her daughter, Felisha Prescott (Gerald); sons, James Light (Cindy), John Light (Suzanne) and Phillip Light (Julie); grandchildren, Misty Lemley, Caitlin Light, Kayla Light Stone (Nate), Hollie Light, and Ashley Chambers (Michael); great grandchildren, Cassidy Lemley, Levi Lemley, Preslee Light, and Reaid, Rhett and Riggs Chambers; great-great grandchild, Rainee Lemley; brother, John Echols; and beloved pet and companion, Aubie. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to thank everyone that prayed for Peggy during her short illness, and a special thank you to Mrs. Leslie Bullard Threadgill from Southern Care Hospice for all of her work, love and concern.
