Peggy Ann Woodward was born on July 16, 1933 to George & Bess Thompson of Mulga, Alabama. She married William H. Woodward in 1950 and over the course of their marriage had three children: Karen, Bill, and Holly. As a US Air Force/Army wife, she traveled and lived in many fascinating places during her lifetime, including France and Ethiopia. When she was not riding camels or motorcycles, she was raising her three wonderful and highly talented children. Later in life, she returned home to Adamsville, Alabama where she spent the remainder of her life caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and baking cakes. She fought cancer in 1996 and won the battle. Her favorite pastimes included baking, crocheting, watching her hummingbirds, and visiting the Adamsville Senior Citizen Center. She was a long-standing member of the Union Grove Methodist Church in Adamsville, Alabama and a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Brookside, AL VFW.
Peggy passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 at the age of 87 from complications of COVID19. Her husband, William H. Woodward, Sr., her brother, George Thompson, Jr., and her son-in-law, Stanley Ellison, preceded her in death.
