Funeral service for Pearl Maline Sapp Nelms, age 77, of Hillsboro will be 11:00 a .m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Standridge officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Caddo Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.  Guestbook available at www.parkwayfunerals.com.

Ms. Nelms, who died Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born October 20, 1947, in Alabama to Frank Paul Sapp and Donnie Minor Sapp.  She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Nelms; parents; two brothers, Kenneth Sapp (Tina) and Roger Sapp (Delaphine); two sisters, Cathy Nelms (Clifford) and Doris Way (Norman); and two stepbrothers, Leon Johnson and Carl Adair.

She is survived by six sons, James Vernon Nelms, Jr. (Tina), Hershel Nelms, Timmy Nelms (Lisa Reeves), Chris Nelms, Calvin Nelms, and Eric Nelms (Kristin Tucker); five daughters, Shelia Johnson Rice, Sherry Trussell (Stevie), Anita Terry, Misty Garrison (Adam), and Kimberly Heaps (Blake); three brothers, Wendell Sapp (Virginia), Denford Sapp, and James Sapp (Janice); sister, Linda Decatur Sapp; stepbrother, Glenn Johnson (Shirley); and 17 grandchildren, Michael Nelms (Tosha), Jonathan Helms (Maliaya), Heather Lamon (Todd), Jessica Nelms, Jamie Johnson, Benjamin Johnson (Millie), Whitney Johnson Kelly (Wesley), Stephanie Proctor (Josh), Summer Trussell, Calista Jones, Evan Tucker, Jeffery Garrison (Maggie), Jordan Garrison, Braxton Garrison, Nora Huckaba, Noah Huckaba, and Olivia Huckaba.

Pallbearers will be Blake Heaps, Noah Huckaba, Stevie Trussell, Josh Proctor, Jeffery Garrison, Jordan Garrison, Trey Trussell, and Adam Garrison.
