Paul Raney age 83 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Limestone Health Facility. Mr. Raney was born July 11, 1930 in Limestone County to Claude Raney and Nellie McCune Raney.
Graveside services for Mr. Raney are Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens with James Lemay officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 12:00 until 1:15 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Mr. Raney was a farmer and a veteran of the US Army Korean War.
He is survived by his brothers, twin brother Silas Raney of Louisville, KY and Ross Raney and wife Patricia of Athens; sister, Mary O. Shaheen and husband Frank of Wellington, FL; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Nellie Raney; brothers, Luie Raney and Claude Raney Jr.; sister, Douglas Mae Davis.
