Mr. Paul M. Gibson, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Pettusville Church Cemetery in Elkmont, Alabama. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on July 22, 1951, in Columbia, Paul was the son of the late James S. Gibson and the late Ruby Jane Sweeny Gibson. He worked thirty years for Lasko Metal Products. He loved going to church and singing gospel music. Paul also enjoyed yard sales and Goodwill when he was able.
He is survived by his son, James (Charity) Gibson of Summertown, daughters, Angela (Lee) Lockridge of Columbia, Candy (Troy) Adams of Lewisburg, Lanora (Jerry) Estis of Mt. Pleasant, sisters, Kay Howell of Columbia, Carolyn (Melvin) Bennett of Columbia, grandchildren, Terry Keith Morton, Faith Scott, Torie Adams, Christopher Shepherd, Natalya Shepherd, JC Shepherd, Troy Adams, Jr. Shantee Adams, George Adams, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Coy, Floyd, and Wayne Gibson, and sister, Elise Drake.
