Mrs. Flora Beatrice Yates Carter age 92 of McMinnville, TN, died Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Willow Branch Health & Rehab in McMinnville, TN. She was born July 01, 1929, in Spencer, TN, was a retired employee of Oster Manufacturing, a member of the former Emanuel Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by parents Mal Milo and Emma Elizabeth Sullivan Yates, husband Thomas Edward Carter, sister Daisy Haston, and brothers B. D. and Lester Yates. Mrs. Carter enjoyed visiting the sick and taking people to their medical appointments.
Survivors include sisters Mary Ruth Hitchcock, Mamie Madewell, Hattie Jo (Kenneth) Lewis, and Reada (Wendell) Wheeler, and brothers Tommy Yates and Leonard Yates. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 14, 2021 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Margaret Ann Wilcox will officiate. Interment will follow at Molloy Cemetery in Spencer, TN. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
