Paul J. Zinkann
April 2, 1918 – February 18, 2018

Paul J. Zinkann, 99, of Huntsville, passed away February 18, 2018. Born to Edward Martin Zinkann and Cecilia Grise Zinkann in Chicago, Illinois, Paul graduated from Lane Tech High School and attended Northwestern University. He left Chicago in 1942 moving to Akron, Ohio to work for Firestone Steel Products. In 1946, he formed his own corporation, the Pioneer Tool and Die Company. He remained in Akron as president of his company until retiring in 1978 when he and his wife, Ruth moved to Naples, Florida and Brevard, NC, dividing their time between their two homes. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the mountain courses in western North Carolina. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of several Real Estate development corporations in Naples, Florida and Akron, Ohio. In 2004, they moved to Huntsville, Alabama to reside in Redstone Village.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecilia Marie Zinkann and brother, Aloysius Edward Zinkann.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Schoner Zinkann; son, Paul Joseph Zinkann, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Paula Jean Ridgeway of Asheboro, NC, Suzanne Louise Rush and husband, Walter, of Manchester, California, Deborah Ann Adamson and husband, William, of Winter Springs, Florida, Karen Sue Mohrman and husband, Ray, of St. Louis, Missouri, M.J. Nelson and husband, David, of Forestville, California; stepdaughter, Janet Ruth DeLaurier of Frisco, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
