Funeral Services for Mr. Paul Graben, age 59 of Lineville, will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 12:00 P.M. with Bro. Jack Husted and Bro. John Howell officiating. Burial will follow at the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Graben passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born in Attalla, but was a lifelong resident of Clay County. He was a Lineville High School graduate and worked for 14 years at Cheaha State Park as a security Officer. Paul was a family man, and you could always find him supporting his nieces and nephews at their ball games, or driving his parents around town. Mr. Graben was a blessing to everyone he met, and a quiet, but present man. When he was younger, he enjoyed traveling with his parents and siblings all of the country, seeing new things and being with his family. Paul was a volunteer with the Barfield Fire Department and in the Brotherhood Men’s group with Barfield Baptist Church. He was a loving brother and uncle.
Mr. Graben is survived by his three siblings: Phillip Graben (Tina) of Lineville, Pam Graben Minnifield (Jesse) of Dadeville, and Patrick Graben (Fiance Lisa) of Sylacauga; 6 nieces and nephews: Dexter Graben (Jennifer Dill) of Ragland, Kaylee Graben of Heflin, India Hughes (Andrew), Josh Smith, both of Lineville, JoAnna Lyles of Ashland, and M.J. Ballard of Dadeville; 6 great-nieces and Great-Nephews: Ankhor, Harbor, Island, and Ocean Hughes, Oaklee Graben, and Jaylee Lyles; his Aunts and Uncles: Carolyn Smith of Lineville, Helen Norred (John), Diane Misch, both of Ashland, and Steve Hallman of Charlotte, NC, plus other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Hilda Joan Hallman Graben.
Phillip Graben, Patrick Graben, Andrew Hughes, Brittan Rotzenburg, Josh Smith, Justin McCollum, Chris McCollum, and Brian Steen will serve as pallbearers.
His visitation will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. Per Paul’s wishes, the family would prefer no flowers. Instead, they would like donations be made to the Barfield Baptist Church Daycare: 74 East Mill Road, Lineville, AL 36266
