Paul Evans, Sr., 96, of Florence died December 31, 2017.
Visitation will be 1-2 PM, Sunday, January 7, 2018, at First United Methodist Church of Florence. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Robert Sparkman officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth and son, Paul, Jr.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Linda E. Rovere (Jim); two granddaughters, Stephanie Wilson (Don) and Emily Tirgrath; six great-grandchildren, Austin Wilson, Lindsey Wilson, Blake Wilson, Lily Tirgrath, Jack Tirgrath, and Lucy Tirgrath.
Paul served in the US Army in the signal corp in Brisbane Australia. He worked for the Social Security Administration for 44 years where he retired as District Manager in Florence in 1985. He was past president and long-time member of the Rotary Club. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Church of Florence and involved in the Sunday School Class.
