Patty Jean Pals, age 73 of Estill Springs, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Vanderbilt-Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on January 30, 1952, to the late Clay and Geneva Modine (Thompson) Ashley. Before her retirement, she had been employed at Garland Sales and Postons in Dalton, Georgia, and the Hat Factory and Genesco. In her younger years, she and her husband remodeled homes. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patty Jean’s family and friends will remember her loving and caring nature as well as her wonderful sense of humor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Pals; sons, Jason Birdwell and Kevin Tosh; grandson, Dylan Birdwell; and brothers, Lincoln Ashley and Ronnie Ashley. Patty Jean is survived by her children, Holly (Max) Vasquez, Mike (Belenda), Mark Dodson, and LeAnn Brady; grandchildren, Jeremiah Dodson, Josh Dodson, Luke Dodson, Kaytlynn Dodson, Brandon Dodson, Blake Dodson, Duane Dodson, Derek (Kaytlynn) Vasquez, Max Vasquez Jr, Heaven Brady, Pacie Brady, David Holder, and Hayden Oliver; Alex (Shyann) Walls, Leslie Vasquez, and Adrianna Vasquez; great-granddaughter, Norah Rose Vasquez; siblings, Linda Nippers, Ricky (Brenda) Ashley, Wilma (Daniel) Tobin, and Kenneth Ashley; special niece and caregiver, Christina (Jason) Hess; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-3pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
