The family of Patsy Sue Hays Ward, age 66, of Decatur, hosted a private family graveside service on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Athens City Cemetery with her nephew, Courtland Hays, officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Ward was born June 1, 1953, in Decatur, to Loyd Clemons Hays and Frances Laverne Schrimsher Hays. She owned and operated an industrial hose business.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Ward; son, Scott Castleberry (Mariyana); three brothers, Jim Hays (Carolyn), Don Hays, and Kenny Hays (Lynn); sister, Judy Curtis (John); five grandchildren, Aiden Castleberry, Garret Marsh, Josh Marsh, Liyana Castleberry, and Ella Marsh; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; seven nephews, Michael, Daniel, Justin, Andrew, Jason, Ollie, and Courtland; and six nieces, Julie, Karen, Lori, Mary Emma, Heather, and Ashley.
