Pat Armes passed away peacefully at her home. She was surrounded by her eldest son, Kevin, and her youngest daughter, Donna, who was also her caregiver. Pat’s beloved cat, Cuddles, remained curled up by her side in the days leading up to her passing.

Pat was an adored wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. When she was young, she was a model. She was an artist who loved to draw and color. She was very proud of her modeling, as well as of her art, and displayed many pictures in her home. She assisted her husband with his hardware business. After her children were grown, she volunteered for the Decatur Police Department many years ago. She took delight in playing the piano. When she became bedbound, and was no longer able to play the piano herself, she would often listen to instrumental gospel hymns, all while moving her hands and feet in rhythm with the music.

During her last years of life, she thoroughly enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores.

Her newfound hobby led to her finding many loved treasures. She became an avid collector of stuffed animals and baby dolls. She spent numerous weekends in the company of her youngest daughter, two of her granddaughters, and four of her beloved great-granddaughters. She always looked forward to these outings.

She formed a close bond with several hospice workers who had previously cared for her husband, before they cared for her as well. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Affinity Hospice for their phenomenal care.

She was excited to see them at their visits.

Preceding her in death were her husband- Donald S. Armes and her parents.
