Patsy D. King departed this life Monday, January 24, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of Paul Howard King, whom she married on May 29, 1981, she worked at MasterSlack for 10-12 years and then retired from Dover Elevator (Thyssen-Krupp), where she worked for almost 34 years. She was born Saturday, June 23, 1945, in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Earl Howell and Partheina Thearp McKee, and lived all of her life here in the county. She enjoyed watching “Gunsmoke” on television, especially Matt Dillon, and working in her flower garden, when she was able, but received her greatest joy from being around her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. Mrs. King was a very active member of Brints Chapel Baptist Church and would never hesitate to tell people ‘You need Jesus’.
Survivors include two daughters, Kerrie Whiteaker (Chris) of Jackson and Crystal Butler (Chris) of Middleton; a son, Tony Burse (Kim) of Middleton; a sister, Diane Smith of Nashville; 7 grandchildren, Cody, Shelby, Jake, Caden, Heather, Penny and Chasity; and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, who died in 2013, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Caden James Polk in 2017. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate).
