Patrick SheahanPatrick Sheahan, 71 of Athens, AL passed away on Monday, June 14th, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Patrick was born April 7th, 1950, in Carson City, NV to Patrick and Avis Sheahan.

Patrick is survived by his wife Rhonda Sheahan; children Stacy Williams (Gregory), James Sheahan (April), Timothy Sheahan (Casey), Bobby Sheahan (Katie); grandchildren Olivia Sheahan, Noah Sheahan, GJ Williams, Autumn Sheahan, Adelaide Sheahan, Madeline Sheahan and Daniel Sheahan; siblings Martha Sheahan, Mary Fuller and Joe Sheahan.

Preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Annie Sheahan and Katherine Sheahan.

Patrick was a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He had a master’s degree from Webster’s University. Patrick was a graduate of the Army War College and the U.S. Army Command and Staff College. Pat served his country for 48 years. The first 24 years were with the U.S. Army as an Army Aviator. Pat served the Army in both peacetime and combat at every command and staff level with his final assignment as a Brigade Commander. His last 24 years of service he was an Operations Specialist for the Program Executive Office for Aviation Utility Helicopters Project Office. Military Awards include Bronze Star – Desert Storm, Bronze, Silver and Gold order of St Michael’s Army Aviation award; U.S. Army Staff Identification Badge – Distinguished Emblem of Pentagon Service, Army Commendation Medal, Air Assault Badge; Air Medal and 5 Meritorious Service Medals. Patrick was a gifted pilot and received his pilot’s license at 19. He was qualified to fly Black Hawks, Cobras, Apache’s, Huey’s and 58’s. He has now earned his final set of wings. Patrick coached baseball in the East Limestone Community when his son Bobby was a boy. He also served as a Limestone Country Baseball Commissioner. Above all Pat will be remembered as an extraordinary Husband, Father and Grandfather.

A visitation service of Patrick Sheahan will be Friday, June 18th, 2021, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
