Mr. Patrick Joseph Businelle, age 71 of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home. There are no services planned at this time.

Mr. Businelle was born in Berwick, Louisiana and spent the majority of his life there until settling in Ashland around 31 years ago. After graduating High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and was an 8 year Vietnam veteran. Upon exiting the military, he worked as a deck hand on Tug Boats in South Louisiana for 16 years. Once he and his family moved to Clay County, he worked at Plantation Patterns in Wadley as a welder and repairman, and also at Mathews Meat Market as a butcher. Outside of work, he was an avid LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints football fan, loved spending time outdoors and considered the life of the party. He loved spending time with his family, and his grandchildren were his world. He was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Businelle of Ashland; three sons: Shane Businelle (Michelle) of Hollins, Lamar Businelle (Stephanie) of Cragford, and Jonathan Businelle (Laura) of Sylacauga; nine grandchildren, two sisters: Earline Kleimann of Patterson, LA and Patricia LeBlanc of Natchez, LA; two brothers, Virgil Gale Businelle of North Carolina and Glen Joseph Businelle of Berwick, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave Joseph and Grace Marie Bergeron Businelle; one sister, Linda Mullally and four brothers: David, Marvin, Earl, and Rick Businelle.
