Patricia “Pat” Davis, 69, departed this life peacefully at home on Sept. 11, 2016, after an extended illness. Pat attended W.C. Handy Elementary and Burrell High School in Florence but graduated from Hirsch High School in Chicago. She then migrated to California and pursued a career as an assembly technician until her health conditions forced her into early retirement and back to her childhood home in Florence in 2001.
Pat was preceded in death by Marvin Davis (father) in 1983 and Julia Harris (mother) in 2014. Pat leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sister, Janis Brown, Florence, and best friends, Kender (Caron) Steele, Tuscumbia.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at ECM, Mitchell Hollingsworth Rehabilitation, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Mrs. Bertha Beck and family, Mrs. Maudie Steele and family, and other caring friends for all acts of kindness during Pat’s journey home.
