Patricia Lou Daily Roberts, 86, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away May 5, 2023. Patricia Daily was born on May 31, 1936, in Florence, Alabama to Buford and Mallie Daily where she spent all of her childhood. She was a 1955 graduate of Coffee High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in 1965 from Florida State University, and her Masters & Specialists degrees in Education from Georgia State University in 1979 and 1981. She was a dedicated educator for twenty-five years with DeKalb County schools. In 1986 she was awarded the Trade & Industrial Educators of Georgia Teacher of the Year award. She was a longtime resident of Stockbridge, Georgia and was a member of McDonough First United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW. She especially loved to travel, play bridge and to spend time with her grandchildren and her dogs. She was a very special Nonnie to her nine grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Mallie Daily of Florence, Alabama, and the father of her children, LTC Paul Montgomery Roberts of Tampa, Florida. She is survived by her brother, Buford Jesse Daily of Los Angeles, California; daughters, Lara Roberts Long (Brian) of Fayetteville, Georgia, Krista Roberts Ellington (Steve) of McDonough, Georgia, Lisa Roberts Hembree (Cliff) of Northport, Alabama; grandchildren, Ansley, Hayden, Addison and Ella Long, Chris and Camryn Fields, Carson Ellington, Pate and Price Hembree.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 10 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Georgia, with Reverend Carol Cook officiating. The family received family and friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Pallbearers will be Chris Fields, Hayden Long, Addison Long, Carson Ellington, Pate Hembree and Price Hembree.
Special appreciation goes to the staff and caregivers of Azalea Estates, her personal caregiver Channie Davis and the nurses and employees of Southern Grace Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southern Grace Hospice, in Patricia Roberts’s name.
