Patricia Gail Raney, 90, of Athens, passed away on Friday, December 12th, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Raney was born on July 16th, 1935, in Adona, Arkansas, to Virgil and Mable Irene (Estes) Wright.
Mrs. Raney is survived by her daughters, Barbara Rogers, Bobbe O’Brien, Bette Pniewski (Richard); son Daniel Raney (Patricia); seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Raney; parents, Virgil and Mable Irene Wright; and sons-in-law, Douglas Burke, Dennis Rogers, and Michael O’Brien.
The graveside service for Mrs. Raney will be Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, at Poplar Creek Cemetery, at 2:30 p.m., with Bro. James Lamay officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will her grandsons.
Pat devoted her life to faith, family, and service to others. She will be remembered for her grace, music, and the love she gave so freely. Her family will cherish her memory always. Pat celebrated her 90th birthday on July 16th. It was a joyful milestone filled with stories, family, and the unmistakable sparkle she brought into every room. She had a gentle strength and a gracious heart that guided her throughout her life as a daughter, wife, and mother.
