Patricia Bryant Malone, 80, of Huntsville, AL passed away Tuesday November 2, 2020. Patricia grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, graduated from the University of Alabama, and later received her Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Patricia taught school at Vestavia Hills School, later became a librarian, and retired from Calhoun College in Decatur, AL.
She was a member of Weatherly Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL for over 45 years. Patricia was an Alabama Alumni of Alpha Delta Pi, a member of Daughters of American Revolution, loved playing bridge, and did extensive genealogy research on her family. She was a huge Alabama football fan and had season tickets until she was physically unable to attend the games. She retired at an early age and traveled the world with her late husband, Dwight Hayden Malone.
Patricia is survived by her children, Donald Bryant Malone and Carol Malone Willis; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Royce and Carlos Bryant; brother, Royce Bryant, Jr; and husband, Dwight Hayden Malone.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with the Revs. David Freeman and Madison Harner officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Patricia requested memorials to be made to Weatherly Heights Baptist Church, 1306 Cannstatt Drive, Huntsville, AL 35803.
