Patricia Ann Ake Thompson, age 66 of Estill Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. She was born on August 17, 1954 to the late Parker Lindsay and Edith (Yarbrough) Ake. Before her retirement, Patricia had worked as a LPN for many years at Sunbridge Nursing Home. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, and cooking, as well as traveling to see her family and friends. Her family will remember her loving and caring nature and her warm personality that made everyone feel welcome. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Era Ottis and Thelma BuenaVista (Hannah) Ake and Daddy Bill and Selma Tennessee Yarbrough; son-in-law, John Sumner; and step-mother, Jean Ake. Patricia is survived by her loving children, Valarie Sumner and Tommy Thompson; mother of her grandchildren, Ashley Martinez; grandchildren, Shelby Thompson, Garrett Martinez, Parker Thompson, and Cole Thompson; great-grandchildren, Jusiah Mora-Thompson; sisters, Cindy (Junior) Sherrill and Phyllis Shuckstes; brother-in-law, Tim Thompson; nephews, Ed North and Steve North; niece, Traci Goodman; cousin, Linda Hayes; and best friend, Karen Crocker. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
