Patricia Ann Schoensee Piskorz died peacefully at her home of natural causes on Wednesday, December 13th, at 10:23 pm. She was surrounded by family and prayers. Patricia was born on June 6th, 1931, to Edward and Frances Schoensee in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Cleveland Intermediate High School in June, 1947. In 1952, she married Raymond Piskorz Sr., and their commitment to each other lasted 55 years until his death in 2007.
The Piskorz family traveled to many states and settled in Scottsboro, Alabama, in 1974. Patricia and Raymond established their family in Scottsboro, where they became devoted parishioners of St. Judes Catholic Church. Patrica became involved in many of the charities at St. Jude and served as a Sunday school teacher for years. Patricia was a devout Catholic- with a rosary in her hand and a prayer in her heart. Her warmth and resilient prayers were generously extended beyond family to persons she had never met and places she had never been.
Patrica was a fashionista with a fondness for glitz and glam. She was known for her flashy jewelry, red lipstick, and sweet perfume scent. She enjoyed reading mysteries and solving puzzles.
Patrica operated “The Peachtree” Clothing Shop on Scottsboro Square in the late 70s. She spent many years as the bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Delta Industrial Services. In her 92 years of life, she played many roles and affected many people. However, her most significant role was “Gramma.”
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Piskorz, her parents, Edward and Frances Schoensee, and her sister, Beverly Schoensee Randazzo. She is survived by her four children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren: Patricia’s son Raymond Piskorz Jr., grandchildren Joseph Piskorz, Kiersten Piskorz Mcjunkins, and great-grandson Caleb Mcjunkins; Patricia’s daughter, Michele Piskorz Hodges, grandchildren, Lori Hodges, Michael Hodges [Emily Hodges], Hannah Hodges and great-grandchildren, Ashton Hodges and Ellie Hodges; Patricia’s son, Jay Piskorz and grandchildren, Jessica Piskorz Catterson [Ryan Catterson], Jay Piskorz Jr. [Heather Piskorz], Mary Kathryn Piskorz, Nicholas Piskorz, Matthew Piskorz, Christopher Piskorz and great-grandchildren, Riley Catterson, William (Liam) Catterson, and Jay Piskorz III (Tripp); Patricia’s daughter, Paula Copeland [Jon Copeland], grandchildren, Jon David Copeland Jr., and Kristina Copeland.
