HUNTSVILLE-On Monday, July 18 Sheriff Blake Dorning announced the arrest of two teens in the death of their 19-day-old child:
“Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today Investigators from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, on July 5, 2016 to investigate suspicious injuries of a 19-day old infant. The injuries consisted of suspicious bruising and possible head trauma. During the course of the investigation, the infant was transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital due to significant injuries. Based on the preliminary investigation, Zackary Austin Harbin, white male, age 18, and Madison Lynn Eagan, white female, age 19, who are the parents of the infant, were arrested for Domestic Violence 1st and placed in the Madison County Jail. On July 15, 2016, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the infant child had passed away as a result of the previously described injuries. On July 18, 2016, Investigators from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants for Zackary Austin Harbin and Madison Lynn Eagan for Capital Murder, causing the death of a child less than 14 years of age. Both subjects continue to be held in custody with no bond based upon the new charges.
Zackary Austin Harbin and Madison Lynn Eagan were arrested on probable cause by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and are presumed innocent until determined otherwise by the judicial system.”
